Until the heartbreak hangover passed, I was unaware of how fortunate it is to just… be. One can only get drunk off love so many times before becoming permanently damaged with the repercussions. We’d seen what had come from falling… in love. Face down to the ground I had never been more determined to keep my nose to the grindstone. With you On My Mind, it wasn’t until you were Gone, when I could finally begin Moving Forward toward the Sun…Shine. What an empowering moment it was. Pride in what I had…vanished. Only to create pride in what I was, and could be. Now knowing that my limitation is ‘pon self, I can’t help but to give in to temptation every once in a while and display weakness. Only difference is today I showed up sleeveless. In advance, I ask for forgiveness, ‘cause with weather like this, there may be nights I seem cold. That doesn’t mean I’m not open. You see, with longevity in this connection there must be something more in these synchronicities than what we choose to simplify into a coincidence. It’s a beautiful thing we had, but as these seasons change we will experience fresh scenery. So, as I write my books, please don’t be offended if I don’t include a second chance; for I always leave the last page blank in case I miss something. I didn’t want you there when I fell. I needed what I knew I couldn’t have. But I gave myself time to strengthen my backbone. As I stood up straight, I connected with a dear soul who guided me to safety from the whirlwind. While caring for me, she exposed the sediment that resided upon me, and proposed the sentiment be free. It took time for such emotions to be properly expressed, but the healing was effective without urgency. The turbulence was no random occurrence. Though the lust may flourish, the love will remain permanent. Thus, The Lore begins its emergence.
